Introduction: Healthcare professionals have been discussing the future of telemedicine and its successor, teleconsultation, for several years. This technology has the potential to improve the organization and provision of health services by increasing access to medical specialists for people in distant cities and reducing waiting times for patients in hospital queues. Therefore, this study aims to identify the role of new communication technologies, such as telemedicine, in clinical medicine. Methods: This study was conducted using a scoping review method. All published articles on the in the field of telemedicine in clinical medicine at the end of Aban 1401 (November 21, 2022) were searched and collected in nine databases and Google Scholar search engine. Finally, based on the inclusion criteria, 13 articles were included in the study and analyzed. Results: The results of these studies have pointed out issues such as insufficient knowledge among people, lack of facilities and equipment, inadequate allocation of funds, inappropriate software and hardware infrastructure, and weak privacy protection methods. These issues pose challenges in the implementation of telemedicine technology, making it necessary to reconsider the structure and formulation of specific instructions for its implementation. Conclusion: Policymakers and health managers should develop and implement effective strategies to establish a suitable platform for integrating new medical technologies, such as remote medicine, into the healthcare system.
