Background: Looking at recent wars and studying their impact on the military, economic and political independence of countries, as well as anticipating the organization of future wars in science and technology, one can infer the importance of appropriate strategies, approaches, policies, and tactical measures in pursuit of success on the battlefield. Among these measures, planning to train human resources and train future soldiers to be present on the battlefield is crucial. Here, we aimed to provide an overview of the necessary standards related to physical, mental, and skills of future soldiers for the wars. Methods: In the current systematic review, Scopus and Web of science databases were searched in English and Persian languages. Following the search based on a specific search strategy and quality assessment, 22 publications were selected for final review. Results: According to the considerably consistent literature, various parameters take part in the performance of future soldiers in the battlefield, including but not limited to, physical mental abilities, skills, education, and equipment. Conclusion: The 18th Principles of Future Battle Principles will be included in training programs for future soldiers to prepare for future wars against hostile enemies.
