Introduction: Physical injury is one of the major issues for military volunteers' soldiers, especially during basic military training period. Many risk factors may role in this context such as age, gender, body mass index, fitness and body preparation, smoking, shoes, ground quality and military training quality. This study was aimed to determine the prevalence of physical injuries in soldiers during a military training period. Methods: This is a cross Sectional study. Subjects who were referred to the military medical unit for trauma were collected by conventional sampling. Check-lists and questionnaires were used for Information collection associated with the type, mechanism, risk factors and prevalence of trauma. Results: 299 patients (30% of total patients) referred because of trauma which consists of blunt trauma in 93% and penetrating trauma in 7%. Military training was the most cause of trauma in 212 patients (70.9%) and lower limb was the most site of trauma. Conclusion: Significant prevalence of physical injury during military training threatens volunteer's health. This study has shown that inappropriate physical preparation, time of training and low information in soldiers is the most important factors affecting the trauma. These injuries will be reduced by planning for gradual physical preparation in soldiers, prevention training to soldiers and commanders, control of risk factors and proper execution of high risk military training.
