Introduction:In today's tense political and military environment, along with rapid advancements in medical and industrial technologies, there is growing concern that competition among governments may deviate from established international law. Such deviations could result in irreversible consequences, including the arming of terrorist groups with biological weapons and the potential for independent non-state actors to acquire and use biological agents with malicious Objective: This narrative review examines the role of military nurses in bioterrorism attacks during armed conflicts, with particular emphasis on their legal status and responsibilities under international armed conflict law. Material and Methods: This study explores the role of military nurses in responding to bioterrorism incidents and their legal responsibilities under international armed conflict law. Relevant literature published between 1987 and 2025 was systematically searched in national and international databases using both Persian and English keywords. After removing duplicates, 46 primary sources were analyzed. Studies were reviewed according to provisions of international law, conventions, and laws of armed conflict, focusing on the support and responsibilities of medical personnel, particularly military nurses. Results: The presence of military nurses during bioterrorism incidents and exposure to biological agents in armed conflict is crucial for victim care. Strong governmental and international legal support is essential to ensure that theses nurses can perform their duties safely and effectively. Conclusion: To effectively confront such attacks, the prominent and influential role of military nurses in international armed conflicts and in combating bioterrorism is indispensable.
