Introduction: The purpose of this study was to develop and determine the effectiveness of sensory-motor rehabilitation program on behavioral inhibition and activation of children with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Methods: The research method was semi-experimental with a pre-test-post-test design and follow-up with a control group. The statistical population of the study included all male children aged 7 to 12 with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder who referred to counseling centers in 2023 in Tehran. The samples include 30 people (15 people in the experimental group and 15 people in the control group) from the statistical population which selected by available sampling method and placed in two control and experimental groups. For the experimental group, the sensory-motor rehabilitation program was implemented, while the control group remained on the waiting list. The research tools included Child Behavior Rating Scale and the revised Reinforcement Sensitivity Theory Questionnaire-Children Form. Results: The results showed that the sensory-motor rehabilitation intervention had a significant effect on improving inhibition and behavioral activation in the post-test and follow-up stages. Conclusion: The findings of this research provide useful information regarding the sensory-motor rehabilitation program. counselors and psychologists can use this intervention to improve inhibition and behavioral activation of children with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder.
