Introduction: The present study aimed to translate, culturally adapt, and validate the Persian version of the Professional Competency Questionnaire for Ambulance Nurses. The importance of this research lies in providing a valid tool for assessing the specific competencies of this group of nurses. Methods: This was a methodological study. Face and content validity of the instrument were assessed using the opinions of 15 experts, through the Content Validity Index (CVI) and Content Validity Ratio (CVR). The reliability of the questionnaire was measured using Cronbach's alpha and the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC). Furthermore, exploratory factor analysis was conducted with 300 nurses, and confirmatory factor analysis was performed with a sample of 200 nurses. Results: The findings indicated that the content validity indices for all items were at a desirable level. Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.817 and the ICC was 0.924. Exploratory factor analysis led to the identification of an 8-factor structure, which was also confirmed by confirmatory factor analysis (RMSEA=0.061, CFI=0.96). Conclusion: According to the obtained evidence, the Persian version of the Professional Competency Questionnaire for Ambulance Nurses has acceptable validity and reliability and can be used in the Iranian healthcare system as a valid tool for assessing the professional competencies of these nurses.
