Abstract
Introduction: Infertility has many negative individual and social consequences and infertile women are exposed to mental health problems. The aim of this study was to investigate the moderating role of individual and family resilience in the relationship between perceived social support and general health in infertile women.
Methods: The present study was a correlational study. The statistical population included infertile women referred to the infertility ward of Khatam Al-Anbia Hospital in Tehran in 2019-2020. Through available sampling, 361 people were selected to participate in the study. The Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, Family Resilience Scale, Perceived Social Support Questionnaire, and General Health Questionnaire were used to collect data. Pearson correlation coefficient and regression methods were used to analyze the data using SPSS software version 22.
Results: According to the results, perceived social support, individual resilience and family resilience had a significant positive correlation coefficient with general health. The regression results showed that individual resilience has a moderating role in the relationship between social support and general health of infertile women.
Conclusion: The general health of infertile women can be improved by strengthening social support and resilience and preventing psychological harm in them.
