Introduction: The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness-based therapy on quality of life in patients with cardiovascular disease. Methods: This quasi-experimental study was performed as a pretest and posttest with a control group awaiting treatment. The population included all patients aged 40-65 years with cardiovascular disease who were treated at Kasra Hospital in Karaj in 1398. The sample consisted of 135 patients with coronary heart disease who were identified from among the patients and assigned to two experimental groups and one control group. The Minnesota Quality of Life Questionnaire scale was used to collect data. Descriptive statistics including mean, standard deviation and percentage and multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) using SPSS-22 were used to analyze the data. Results: The results of multivariate analysis of covariance showed that both cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness-based therapy increase the quality of life of patients (P <0.001). Also, the results of follow up test showed that there was no significant difference between the treatment groups in terms of effectiveness on the mentioned variables in all components. Conclusion: The results of this study have important implications for educating and promoting the mental health of cardiovascular patients.
