Stable personality characteristics in vulnerable to drug abusers compared to normal people

Introduction: One of the main questions of Psychologists is that weather personality characteristics, separate addicted and normal people. This study was aimed to compare the stable personality characteristics in vulnerable to drug abusers compared to normal people. Methods: This is a causal – comparative case study. 300 individuals from 18 to 40 years living in this city of Khorramabad, chosen by cluster random sampling and were divided into two groups with the ability to test for substance abuse risk and normal group. Then the scale factor Cattell 16 Personality tests were performed. t-test for independent groups was used to analyze the data. Results: Results showed that the two groups on measures of sensation seeking, emotional stability and extraversion had significant differences (p<0.001) and in measures of stress and nervous and temperamental there was no significant differences. |
