Conversion of patients’ demographic characteristics and simultaneous increasing outbreak of disease from 2000 to 2005 in Kermanshah Province

Kermanshah Province is one of the endemic areas of Brucellosis in Iran which is assigned as a major health problem in that region. Survey for demographic characteristics of the patients’ and alteration proess can help in declare of at risk groups.
Materials and Methods: In this survey some of demographic characteristics (age, sex, literacy level, job, and life area) of all patients diagnosed for Beucellosis in Kermanshah province from 2002 to 2006 were collected and analyzed by SPSS-15 software using t-Test, One way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Chi-square and Pearson correlation ratio.
Results: Total cases were 3646. Mean age of the patients in men was 30 and in women was 32.9 (P<0.01). The disease was more frequent in men (P=0.0017). There was an increase ratio of the ranchmans and decrease in urbanism during the 5 years. No changing in age and literacy was observed during the 5 years.
Conclusion: In recent 5 years, increasing percent of men, age differences of men and women, increasing percent of ranchers and decreasing percent of urbanites implicate that transmission ratio of disease via professional exposures is increasing. |
