The role of Emotional Regulation and Spirituality on Occupational Stress in Military Nurses

Introduction: Occupational stress has association with workplace exhaustion and faint emotional regulation. Also, clinical research has emphasized on association of pirituality and healthy. Studies have survived the role of spirituality and emotional regulation in psychological healthiness, but haven’t found research survived this variable in nurse’s stress. Method: This is a descriptive cross-sectional research performed on 170 nurses in a military hospital in Tehran who were selected by random multi-stage method. Data collecting tools were the Osipow›s job stress inventory, difficulties of regulations scales and Spirituality questionnaire. Data were analyzed by SPSS-19 software using Spearman correlation and Logistic Regression analysis tests. Results: the result from analyses is revealed that spirituality has significantly relation with occupational stress and emotional regulation, but emotional regulation hasn’t significant relation with occupational stress. Conclusion: occupational stress in military nurses can decrease with increase of spirituality.
