Introduction: Financing military hospitals is a major challenge in health resource management, and various models have been implemented globally to improve efficiency, quality, and resilience. Understanding and analyzing these models can guide the design of an appropriate financing system for military hospitals in Iran. Methodolgy: This study employed a scoping review to identify, classify, and analyze different financing models for military hospitals worldwide. Data were extracted from case studies, empirical research, and reputable international sources, with a focus on the characteristics, advantages, and limitations of each model.. Findings: The findings revealed three main approaches: budget-based models, revenue-based models, and collaborative/combined models. Traditional budget-based models are simple and predictable but lack flexibility and sufficient focus on service quality. Performance- and value-based models enhance efficiency, improve quality, and optimize resource utilization. Collaborative models, including public-private partnerships (PPP) and inter-organizational partnerships, reduce financial pressure, increase hospital resilience, and provide opportunities for training and infrastructure development. Conclusion:A strategic combination of budget-based, performance-based, and collaborative models may offer the most effective approach for establishing a sustainable, efficient, and responsive financing system for military hospitals in Iran. This integrated approach can enhance financial sustainability, service quality, and operational resilience.
