Introduction: Hypertension is a major
non-communicable disease that is the reason of above 6 percent of human death around
the world and if untreated can be complicated by myocardial
ischemia and infarction, osteoporosis, renal failure, stroke and death is. Material and Methods: In this survey the effect of
intraperitoneal injection of 50mg/kg hyoscyamuzides and 100mg/kg metanolic
extracted from hyoscyamous niger on high blood pressure after injection of 0.013
mg/kg epinephrine during 28 days in three groups of eight male
Wistar rats was studied and mean systolic, diastolic, arterial and pulse pressure via the
lower tail vein were recorded by Physiograph. Results: Methanol and hyoscyamuzides
extracted from hyoscyamous niger decreased systolic, diastolic, mean
arterial and pulse pressure Significantly (p<0/05) and lowering
effect on mean arterial pressure was more relevant (p<0/01). Conclusion: Methanol and hyoscyamuzides extracted from hyoscyamous
niger are more effective in mean arterial pressure probabely due to beta-blockers
activity of these drugs.
