Stretching and strengthening exercises, as an effective way, are recommended to improve scapular position, back, head and shoulder posture in shoulder overuse syndrome. The purpose of this study was to evaluate head and shoulder posture as well as the effect of therapeutic exercises to improve head and shoulder girdle posture, thoracic spine curvature and scapular position in patients with shoulder overuse syndrome. Methods: This is a Quasi-Experimental study, was conducted on 36 eligible patients with shoulder overuse syndrome. Before and after 6-week exercise therapy protocol scapular protraction, rotation and symmetry, forward shoulder and head posture as well as thoracic spine curvature was measured. Results: The results of this study revealed a significant improvement in scapular protraction, forward head posture and mid thoracic curvature (p<0.001), but there was no significant differences in scapular rotation and symmetry. Conclusion: Our findings indicate the effectiveness of 6-weeks exercise therapy protocol in improvement of head, shoulder, scapula and mid thoracic posture.}, Keywords = {Shoulder Overuse Syndromes, Posture, Exercise Therapy}, volume = {2}, Number = {3}, pages = {53-63}, publisher = {اداره بهداشت، امداد و درمان نزاجا}, url = {http://npwjm.ajaums.ac.ir/article-1-156-en.html}, eprint = {http://npwjm.ajaums.ac.ir/article-1-156-en.pdf}, journal = {Nurse and Physician Within War}, issn = {2645-3940}, eissn = {2645-3932}, year = {2015} } @article{ author = {}, title = {The Effectiveness of Mindfullness Based Cognitive Therapy on Quality of Life in Military Personnel}, abstract ={Introduction: The main aim of the present research is to find the effectiveness of mindfullness based cognitive therapy (MBCT) on quality of life in military personnel. Methods: The subjects were selected from the main population via General Health Questionnaire (GHQ) by randomized clinical trial method. Those who got high scores than cut off point in GHQ were identified as subjects and randomly were divided in two control and experimental groups. All subjects were requested to fill in the Quality of Life – the short Form- (WHO-QOL-BREF). The pre and post test as well as the follow up test were taken form the two groups. The subjects of the experimental group participated in the MBCT program (eight sessions) while the control group has not received it. Results: Analysis by Manova showed the MBCT program had significant outcome on quality of life on the experimental group. The follow up in a period of three months revealed that these outcomes were stable. Methods: This single group training trial was carried out in 2013 on 30 nursing students of AJA nursing school in Tehran, who were selected by simple randomization sampling method. Samples were trained by web-based for radiation injured management. The effect of training was measure in three levels of knowledge, apprehension and application before, immediately after training and 4 weeks later. Data were analyzed by SPSS-21 software using repeated measures ANOVA test. Results: The mean and standard deviation of scores in all learning levels (knowledge, apprehension and application) before, immediately after and 4 weeks after training were respectively 7.83± 2.561, 18.57±3.308 and 10.40±2.568 (p<0.001) and significant difference was observed between the three phase in the test. The mean of scores in the post test had a greater increase but in the retention phase (4 weeks after training) had a large reduce. Conclusion: in case of optimal conditions of the time and place and existence of educational aids and in order to time saving (Possibility of 24-hour access every day of the week, flexibility this method, be independent of time and place) in some of lessons can be used this modern training method. The Protections of individual and collective are the first step defense against contamination by chemical agents. This study was designed to compare the effect of conventional training by lecture and training by simulation method on military nursing students’ attitude in personal protection for chemical attacks. Methods: this is a training trials study performed on 78 nursing students in 2013. Data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire consisting of demographic and attitude questions. The validity and reliability was determined by content validity and test/retest method, respectively. Data was analyzed by SPSS software version 20 using descriptive and analytical statistics by independent and pair t test, Chi square, Fischer exact tests in P<0.05. Results: Mean Attitude scores for lecture and simulation group before intervention was 99.71 and 102.76 (P=0.177) and after intervention was 105.29 and 102.75(P=0.28), respectively. Probably, quality of working life is one of effective factors on productivity. If the relationship between them becomes apparent, managers can provide conditions for nurses to be more productive. Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship productivity and quality of working life in nurses of AJA Hospitals in Tehran. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out on 322 clinical nurses working in AJA hospitals in Tehran. The subjects were recruited by multi-stages sampling method in 2012-2013. Data was collected by using the Persian version of Productivity questionnaire and quality of working life’s questionnaire, and then analyzed by SPSS software. Results: Findings showed that most nurses (35.1%) obtained high productivity score. Most nurses (48.1%) reported very high effectiveness. Also, most of them (52.5%) obtained desirable and very desirable score in commitment dimension. In dimension of presence for patients, 47.2% of nurses also received very desirable score. Findings showed that most nurses (35.1%) obtained high productivity score. Pearson correlation coefficient indicated a statistical positive relationship between total productivity score and quality of working life (p<0.05).
