This study is an effort to review, assess and collect data on multiple causes which leads to IBS manifestation.</span></span></span></span></span></span><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="line-height:107%"><span new="" roman="" style="font-family:" times="">Conclusion</span></span></span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="line-height:107%"><span new="" roman="" style="font-family:" times="">: Although no certain and definite cause of IBS was found throughout searched and reviewed articles, factors such as stresses, childhood events, previous bowel infection, neurotransmitter changes in brain and genetic alterations have been described and explained through articles.
