Comparison of the Effectiveness of Based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Psycho-motor relaxation using Dohsa-Hou on Signs of improvement in physical health and psychological well-being in MS patients

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to Comparison of the Effectiveness of Based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Psycho-motor relaxation using Dohsa-Hou on Signs of improvement in physical health and psychological well-being in MS patients in Tehran city in 1396.
Methods: The research method is semi-experimental and for data collection, a pre-test and post-test design with two experimental groups and one control group and follow up was used. The statistical population of the study was all patients in my community. In Tehran 45 of them were selected by the available sampling method and randomly assigned to two experimental groups (each group was 15) and one control group (15). The experimental group received acceptance and commitment therapy for 8 sessions of 60 minutes and the Psycho-motor relaxation using Dohsa-Hou group was trained in 11 sessions of 45 minutes, and the control group remained on the list. The instruments used in this study were Physical Health Wickeri et al (1995) and (1995) and Reef Psychological Well-being (1989), which were used in two stages of pre-test and post-test. Data analysis was performed using descriptive and inferential (covariance analysis) questionnaires using spss22 software.
Results: The findings showed that both of the interventions used in this study can significantly improve physical health and psychological well-being in patients with MS. (p<0.05), with the difference that acceptance and commitment interventions had a greater impact on physical health and psychological well-being. In addition, there was no significant difference in the post-test-follow-up stage (p<0.05), which indicates the sustainability of interventional changes.
Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, treatment based on Acceptance and Commitment and Psycho-motor relaxation using Dohsa-Hou, effective interventions to increase physical health and mental well-being of patients. But the effect of treatment was more Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
