Evaluation of patient safety culture in the staff of Urmia army hospital

Introduction: Hospital is one of the most important institutions providing health services, which should provide a safe space for their patients and prevent the creation of incidents to them. The most important issues in the health sector and especially in hospitals is quality of care. Quality of care formed by elements that patient safety is one of the most important of them. Therefore, the aim of this study was the evaluation of patient safety culture in staff of Urmia army hospital.
Methods: This study was cross-sectional and carried out between 85 personnel of Urmia hospital. The patient safety culture questionnaire was used for data collection Data were analyzed by SPSS 19 software using Correlation and T-Student tests.
Results: The results showed that among 12 dimensions, management support and non-punitive response to error had the highest average and the only variable which had a significant relation was marital status.
Conclusion: Educational classes and express the importance of patient safety can be effective in increasing the efficiency to the health system.
